INJECTABLES
TMJ TREATMENT
Bright Smiles Dental offers a number of services to help you achieve and maintain optimal oral health. One such service is the use of injectables to decrease the strength of the masseter muscle. This muscle is responsible for the chewing action and is very strong. However, its strength can sometimes lead to clenching and grinding, which can cause pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). By injecting into the muscle, we are able to slightly weaken it, which takes the pressure off the TMJ and helps to relieve pain.
The effect of the injectables is not immediately noticeable, as it takes a few days for the muscle to weaken. However, over time, you should notice a decrease in clenching and grinding, as well as a reduction in TMJ pain.
